Machine Reservations

Making the most of your shop-time

Our flexible scheduling approach acknowledges the complexity of your life and respects your time: this reservation system ensures that you will have access to the machine you need when you can make the most of it.

Make sure you have completed the order of operations for your project, before your reserved time.

Reservations are for 3‑hours.

  • You should budget enough time for clean up at the end of your time slot, such that the next person can begin their setup on the hour.
  • If the end of your reservation is coming up and you would like more time, check-in with an instructor: if there isn't a following reservation for that machine, or there is another machine open, you may be allowed to continue;

Respecting Everyone's Time

If you are unable to make your appointment, please cancel as early as possible so someone else can use that time. If you are more than 30‑minutes late, your reservation will be forfeited and the machine will become available on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

Instructor Appointments

Making the most of your appointment

Instructor appointments are an opportunity to receive personalized guidance, troubleshoot challenges, or learn specific skills. To make the most of your session, come prepared with questions or topics you wish to discuss.

Appointments are for 30‑minutes.

Note: Instructors may need to step out briefly during your appointment to monitor safety in the shop. Appointments are scheduled with buffer to help ensure your time is respected.

Respecting Everyone's Time

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please cancel as early as possible to allow others to book that time. Arriving late may result in a shortened session or forfeiture of your appointment.

Types of Appointment:

There are several types of appointment available on Bookings: choose one of these categories and provide any additional information so that your instructor will be best-prepared to support your learning.

  • Weekly Check-In: Time to touch base, review progress, ask questions, and plan for the next week.
  • Tutoring: For when you need help with something at a desk or on a computer.
  • Coaching: For when you need help with something at a machine / hands-on.
  • Something Else: You are welcome to meet with an instructor for any reason at all, just let us know how we can help!
